Terms of Use

Last updated: 8/10/2026

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use define the conditions of access to and use of the Ryvie service, a personal cloud solution that lets you store and access your data from your own infrastructure.

2. Acceptance of the terms

By using the Ryvie service, you fully accept these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.

3. Description of the service

Ryvie is a personal cloud platform that allows you to:

  • Store your files (photos, videos, documents) on your own infrastructure
  • Access your data from anywhere in the world
  • Keep full control of your personal data
  • Synchronize your files with third-party services (Google Drive, Dropbox…) via the rDrive

The rDrive app enables two-way synchronization of your files between your Ryvie and your Google Drive or Dropbox accounts. This feature is entirely optional and requires your explicit authorization. Some applications also offer artificial-intelligence features: they run on your own Ryvie (self-hosted models) or, if you provide your own API key, through the third-party service of your choice — see our privacy policy.

4. Account creation and authorizations

4.1 Authentication

To use Ryvie, you must create an account by signing in via Google. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Not share your credentials with third parties
  • Inform us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4.2 Connecting your clouds (rDrive)

If you choose to use rDrive to synchronize your files with Google Drive or Dropbox:

  • Your personal Ryvie device connects directly to your Google Drive or Dropbox account
  • Synchronization happens locally on your device, without passing through Ryvie (the company) servers
  • Ryvie (the company) has no access to the content of your Google Drive or Dropbox files

Important: Our authentication gateway establishes the OAuth connection and stores your access tokens encrypted; your file contents travel directly between your Ryvie device and the connected service, without being stored or accessed by our servers. You can revoke this authorization at any time from rDrive, from your Google account security settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or from your Dropbox account. Data received from Google APIs is used in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the “Limited Use” requirements.

5. Use of the service

You agree to use Ryvie responsibly and not to:

  • Use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Disrupt or interfere with the operation of the service
  • Use the service to store or share illegal, offensive or harmful content

6. Data ownership

You retain full ownership of your data stored via Ryvie. Ryvie claims no rights over your personal files. Your data remains on your own infrastructure and you keep full control of it.

7. Responsibilities

Your responsibility:

  • You are responsible for the content you store on your Ryvie infrastructure
  • You must make your own backups of your important data
  • You are responsible for the maintenance of your Ryvie hardware

Our responsibility:

We strive to provide a reliable and secure service. However, the service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We cannot be held responsible for data loss, service interruptions or any damage resulting from the use of the service.

8. Service availability

We strive to keep the service available 24/7. However, we reserve the right to temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, updates or in the event of force majeure.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@ryvie.fr.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account in the event of a breach of these Terms of Use or misuse of the service.

10. Changes to the Terms of Use

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be published on this page with a new update date. Your continued use of the service after publication of the changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

11. Intellectual property

The Ryvie service, its logo, its brand and all the elements that make it up are protected by intellectual property rights. Any unauthorized reproduction or use is prohibited.

12. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these terms will be submitted to the competent French courts.
